ARGENTEAU

A 500 sq m garden inside a 2800 sq m property right at the heart of the beautiful valley of the Julienne river. A former little farm made of local stone faces the garden designed by Alain Dor. A winding little path, nicknamed the roe deers’ path, climbs into the wood behind the house. A rusty metal flight of stairs takes the visitor to the vegetable garden, divided into squares, down below. Running through the meadow, a lane takes you to the edge of the Julienne. There is something magical about the place and the visitor starts dreaming. Why don’t you allow yourself to be lulled by the water’s gentle babble?

Access: Liège-Maastricht E25 motorway, exit 3. Turn right and follow the direction of Sarolay. Drive up the Sarolay hill, which becomes Rue Lieutenant Joassart . Take the first street on your left, rue de Loneux. You have to park your car near the cemetery. You will then walk on an asphalt road for about ten minutes. A shuttle may be arranged.
Alternative pedestrian route, along the Julienne: at the foot of the Sarolay hill, turn left towards the Julienne ponds. Park your car there. A 20 to 25 minutes’ signposted walk will take you to the garden.
